Science on Tap Vancouver will host Dr. Rolan Tripp, a veterinarian and animal behavior scientist, for a talk tonight at Kiggins Theatre on the scientific underpinnings of raising a good dog.

Tripp’s presentation will go into how dogs think and why they behave like they do, and he’ll provide science-based suggestions dog owners.

He holds a doctorate in veterinary medicine and degrees in philosophy and music, and he teaches animal behavior at two veterinary schools. He has written extensively on animal behavior, presented all over the world and has appeared on Animal Planet as a subject matter expert more than 200 times.

Doors open at 6 p.m., with the talk starting at 7 p.m. Preorder tickets are $8 if ordered before 4 p.m. today at viaproductions.seatengine.com. There’s a suggested $10 cover at the door.

Beer, wine, popcorn and snacks will be available.

Kiggins Theatre is at 1011 Main St. in downtown Vancouver.
