A Portland woman who beat and robbed another woman she met at a bar was sentenced Thursday in Clark County Superior Court to nearly two years in prison.

Hollee A. Dewald, 26, pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree robbery and third-degree assault in connection with the Feb. 18 attack. She initially faced first-degree robbery, but that charge was amended and a heroin possession charge was dismissed in a separate case, as part of a plea deal, Deputy Prosecutor James Smith said in an interview.

The victim told police she was socializing with Dewald at the Owl’s Nest bar on Portland’s Jantzen Beach, and that Dewald agreed to give her a ride home to Vancouver, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Dewald passed the exit to take the victim home and drove to the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 4000 block of Plomondon Street. There, Dewald struck the woman in the face several times and pulled her purse from her lap, the affidavit states. The victim fell from the vehicle during the struggle, and Dewald and an unidentified person stole multiple electronics and $1,000 in cash, court records said.

Vancouver police said the victim had a bruised and bloodied face from the attack, according to court documents.

Dewald was later arrested by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office on an unrelated Department of Corrections warrant.

Judge Daniel Stahnke sentenced Dewald to 22 months in prison and 12 months’ community custody. She was given credit for 236 days in custody, Smith said.
