Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer Connections provides opportunities through the Human Services Council.

• The city of Vancouver is recruiting volunteers for the Neighbors on Watch program, to be trained to act as eyes and ears for the police department.

• Clark County Food Bank is looking for volunteers to fold 140,000 paper bags on Nov. 19 for the Walk & Knock food drive. Help is also needed with parking, monitoring and serving food on Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 24, at the annual Turkey Trot race.

• Clark County Veterans Assistance Center seeks volunteers to greet veterans and direct them to appropriate resources after determining the type of assistance wanted.

• Furry Friends is looking for people to wrap books on Nov. 25 and Dec. 17 to be used as holiday gifts for Barnes & Noble customers.

• Mount St. Helens Institute is looking for volunteers at least once a month through May to help enhance visitors’ experiences at the volcano. Trained volunteers recommend hikes, explain the natural history of the mountain and discuss places to view wildlife.

• Shared Hope International is looking for volunteers to make reminder calls to people who have been invited to its Christmas breakfast.
