Battle Ground – Battle Ground Public Schools closed earlier this month on a purchase of 20 acres of property in the southeast portion of the district.

The land lies west of Northeast 152nd Avenue between Northeast 99th and Northeast 110th streets. The land will someday be the site of a new campus with kindergarten through fourth grade and fifth through eighth grade schools.

The purchase price was $2.267 million, according to the agreement. The seller was the Robert Dempsey Family Trust.

The school district paid for the land in full using funds collected from impact fees, according to a district spokeswoman.

There are no immediate or specific plans to build on the site. However, the district is asking voters next Tuesday to approve an $80 million bond to renovate, replace and build schools.
