Free skin cancer screening June 11

PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center is offering free skin cancer screenings to the public from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 11.

Seven dermatologists will be donating their time to screen up to 275 patients, who each will receive a full head-to-toe body scan. Last year, doctors found four probable melanomas. In past years they also discovered actinic keratosis, basal cell, squamous cell and melanomas, according to a press release.

Because space is limited, participants should call 360-514-2102 and leave their name and phone number. The hospital will call back to schedule an appointment time and go over specific details.

The screenings will be in the Short-Stay Unit at PeaceHealth Southwest, 400 N.E. Mother Joseph Place, Vancouver.
