Roosevelt celebrates Friendship Day

Vancouver — Eleanor Roosevelt Elementary School students, who hail from 47 countries and speak 25 languages, will celebrate International Friendship Day at an assembly at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the school, 2921 Falk Road.

The free, public event will honor student diversity, cultures and friendships. Students will perform dances from Mexico, Russia, Africa, Tahiti, South Korea and the United States. Flags from all 47 countries will be presented, and students will be recognized for building international friendships and being school ambassadors.
