Evergreen Habitat for Humanity is accepting applications for its homeownership program next month and will host orientations where people can learn more about the program. The Vancouver-based nonprofit builds and sells low-cost homes with zero-interest mortgages to local families and individuals with steady incomes between 35 and 60 percent of the median. (Sixty percent of the median would be $43,980 for a family of four.)
Attending one of the upcoming orientations is highly recommended for potential applicants:
• 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at Pacific Continental Bank, 101 E Sixth St.
• 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, at Vancouver Housing Authority, 2500 Main St.
• 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 23, at the Clark County Food Bank, 6502 N.E. 47th Ave.
• 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at First United Methodist Church, 401 E 33rd St.
Homeownership applications will be available between June 1 and 30. Contact Melissa Edwards at 360-737-1759 or melissa@ehfh.org to get more information and to RSVP for an orientation.
