• Human Services Council Transportation Resource Center is looking for call takers to help others with their transportation needs. Technical administrative assistants are also needed to provide critical feedback and establish new operations. This position may include attending outreach events and supervising volunteer call takers.
• Lutheran Community Services NW is looking for citizenship class instructors, drivers, ESL instructors, mentors, and program assistants.
• Meals on Wheels People is looking for drivers and substitute drivers to deliver meals to homebound Meals on Wheels participants.
• nConnect is looking for professionals, retirees, and college students from all backgrounds and industries to inspire students for one hour or throughout the school year. There is an urgent need for STEM mentoring. Volunteers are needed as guest speakers, for giving company tours, job shadow/internships, speed networking, and project based mentoring/consulting.
• National Alliance on Mental Illness is in need of volunteers to represent NAMI at events in the community. Office assistants are needed to answer phones, greet clients, and help with the monthly newsletter.
• Share seeks volunteers to work with staff and residents, preparing and serving meals. Individuals and groups are welcome.
Columbia Springs is looking for volunteers to help maintain its recreational and educational facilities at the next Stewardship Saturday event, 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, at 12208 S.E. Evergreen Highway, Vancouver. The event begins with a lesson about local ecology and ends with an activity, such as a craft or nature hike.
People 7 or older are welcome; those under 16 years old must be with a parent or guardian. People 16 or 17 years old must have parent or guardian approval. Information: www.columbiasprings.org

The county councilors seek to fill an unexpired term on the Parks Advisory Board for a term ending December 31, 2017.
The seven-member board makes recommendations regarding park designs and locations, park acquisition, development and improvement, rules for park use, and the county’s parks budget. Regular meetings are noon to 2:30 p.m. on the second Friday of each month.

The Clark County STASHA (Strong Teens Against Substance Hazards and Abuse) Peer Education Program seeks youth 12 to 19 years old to fill positions for the 2016-17 program year. STASHA peer educators raise awareness of alcohol and drug issues among children through outreach and educational programs. The group includes those who have never used drugs or alcohol, those with past use, and those who have completed treatment and are in recovery. Meetings are on the first and third Monday evenings of each month. Training is provided.
