Union Lacrosse opened the state playoffs on May 14 with a 20-5 win over West Seattle.

The win moves Union into the Washington Boys Lacrosse Association Division II quarterfinals. Union will host White River at noon on Saturday at Camas High School’s Cardon Field.

Against West Seattle, Union scored five times in the first five minutes to take command.

Parker Lindhorst led a balanced Union attack with three goals and four assists. Isaiah Pratt scored four goals while Sam Rink, Andrew Harrah and Ben Morasch each scored three goals.

Jonathan Stell had 12 faceoff wins to go with two goals and four assists.

Union (13-4) lost to its quarterfinal opponent White River (11-6) by a score of 8-7 on April 4. If Union wins this rematch, it would host a Division II semifinal match on May 25. The state final is slated for May 28 at the Starfire Complex in Tukwila.

Division II is the Washington High School Boys Lacrosse Association division for smaller and newer programs. More established programs in the Puget Sound region — including several that are nationally ranked — play in Division I.

North Kitsap 15, Columbia River 14 — Columbia River’s season ended with the May 14 loss by one goal to North Kitsap at Jason Lee Middle School. Details from the match were not reported to The Columbian. Columbia River finished 7-5 in all competitions after finishing tied for second place in its division.
