The public is invited to Clark College this weekend for the its first “Healthy Penguin Walkabout” for a free health assessment and information about the impacts of sugar on health.
From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 21, business and health science students will demonstrate what they’ve learned while conducting assessments on blood glucose levels, risk for dental cavities, body mass index and body fat percent, diabetes risk level, blood pressure and pulse.
While walking the college’s Penguin Pathway, visitors can enjoy fun learning activities for the entire family such as superhero yoga, kick the cavity, comfort animals, music relaxation and more. Each station will feature a children’s activity, health assessment, information and possible prizes. Those who finish the walk may enter a raffle for more prizes, including an annual membership to the Clark College fitness center.
