SALMON CREEK — To celebrate the one-year anniversary of time-banking program hOur IMPACT, there will be a volunteer cleanup of Salmon Creek Regional Park/Klineline Pond on May 21. The cleanup, from 9 a.m. to noon, will include picking up trash, weeding, and sprucing up the shelter, play equipment and signs. Birthday cake will be served at 11 a.m.

Volunteers will meet at the Pondview Shelter west of Klineline Pond, at 1112 N.E. 117th St. Volunteers should dress for the weather and wear closed-toe shoes; people can also bring work gloves and tools, such as hedgers, pruners and loppers.

Those interested in volunteering are asked to contact Karen Llewellyn, volunteer coordinator for Clark County parks, at 360-397-6118, extension 1627, or karen.llewellyn@clark.wa.gov.

The hOur IMPACT program launched last year by Clark County’s Commission on Aging allows people to volunteer time in exchange for another person’s time that serves their own needs.
