• City of Vancouver Parks and Recreation seeks front desk assistants at the Firstenburg Center.
• Clark College Student Learning Center is looking for literacy and English language tutors to assist students in the Transitional Studies Tutoring Center. Training is provided.
• Columbia River Mental Health is looking for a few volunteers to greet clients as they come into the lobby.
• Human Services Council 1 Call 1 Click Transportation Resource Center seeks volunteers to help others access transportation and resources. Help is also needed with outreach, transportation options training and surveying.
• Humane Society for Southwest Washington — ReTails Thrift Store is looking for help in the bookstore, boutique, clothing, electronics and home d?cor areas, with repurposing/upcycling, floor sales, and as truck drivers.
• Interfaith Treasure House volunteer drivers are needed to go to local stores and pick up donated bread and product. Volunteers are also needed to sort through donated items. Other opportunities are also available.
Fort Vancouver National Historic Site, working with SOLVE Oregon, seeks volunteers to remove trash along the Columbia River Waterfront Renaissance Trail near Columbia Street in Vancouver, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Trash bags, gloves, and a limited supply of litter pickers will be available, and coffee and refreshments will be provided.
Participants will meet at the National Park Service’s parking lot east of Who Song and Larry’s, 111 S.E. Columbia Way, Vancouver. Registration: solveoregon.org
The Clark County Food Bank depends on volunteers to help feed hungry Clark County residents. Food collectors, to drive or ride on weekday mornings in a 20-foot box truck to Clark County grocery stores; food sorters, to work one or more shift, 10 a.m. to noon weekdays, in a refrigerated room; and receptionists, to work one four-hour shift per week, are especially needed.

Friends of Trees, a local nonprofit, is looking for volunteers to inspect new trees this summer. Volunteers are assigned a route with approximately 20 to 25 recently planted trees to visit twice over the summer. No experience is needed. Required training will be 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. May 21 at Vancouver City Hall, Aspen Room, 415 W. Sixth St., Vancouver, and will include a short outing with tree professionals.
