Edgewood Park — Members of Washington School for the Deaf’s math team traveled to Rochester, N.Y., for a weekend last month to compete in the Math Counts competition. Students Nic Moore, Jennifer Tudor and Jayson Cabanizas were selected to represent WSD and practiced for months. The trip was made possible by fundraisers throughout the year, along with a significant donation from the Deaf Education Advocacy Foundation. The students mingled with other teams in Rochester on the Friday before Math Counts, then got down to business Saturday with a day full of competition. The weekend was capped off with all participants and coaches being treated to an afternoon at the Altitude Trampoline Park in Rochester.
