Week 7 spring sports prep athlete of the week nominees

Weekly vote, sponsored by Athletes Corner, continues through Thursday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian spring sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending May 7.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

IVAN ESPINO, EVERGREEN BOYS SOCCER: Espino had two assists in a win over Mountain View, then added a PK kick in the playoff win over the Thunder.

SILAS GRIFFITH, RIDGEFIELD BOYS TRACK AND FIELD: Griffith won the 1,600 and 3,200 at the Spudder Invite in Ridgefield.

KOBEN JAMISON, COLUMBIA RIVER BASEBALL: Jamison went 5 for 8, including 4 for 4 in the bi-district playoffs, with five runs, 2 RBI and a double.

JULIA STEPPER, WOODLAND GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD: Stepper was the girls athlete of the meet at the Spudder Invite, winning the 100, 200 and long jump.

JESSI WEAVER, LA CENTER SOFTBALL: Weaver went 5 for 10 with three doubles, four runs and four RBI in three wins over Castle Rock.
