Clark roundup: Penguins softball swept by LCC

Baseball team splits at Skagit Valley

Lower Columbia kept pace with first place Mt. Hood by sweeping an NWAC South softball doubleheader at Clark on Saturday.

Lower Columbia (28-10, 11-5 NWAC South) won 5-1 and 13-4.

Clark (15-19, 3-13) had 10 hits in the first game, two each from Khloe Clark and Nicole Katyryniuk, who also tripled.

Krystina Fischer, a Battle Ground High grad, was the winning pitcher for Lower Columbia. (Click here for complete Game 1 boxscore)

Sarah Hoechlin hit a two-run home run for Clark in the second game.

Shyanne Chandler, a Ridgefield grad, was 4 for 4 with an RBI for LCC. (Click here for complete Game 2 boxscore)

BASEBALL: Clark split a doubleheader at Skagit Valley in Mount Vernon, winning 1-0 and losing 3-2.

Ian Humphrey had a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning to bring home Clark’s run in the first game. Jacob Allbee earned the victory on the mound in relief. (Click here for complete Game 1 boxscore)

Clark is now 18-21 overall with one NWAC South region series remaining.
