The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office identified Lynne M. Cathey, 53, as the woman found dead in the wreckage of a March 22 house fire in La Center.
The medical examiner’s office said a final determination on the cause and manner of Cathey’s death was pending.
Fire investigators found that a burner on an electric stove in the mobile home, at 1505 N.W. 379th St., was turned on at the time of the fire.
The fire spread to the rest of the building, and the burn patterns indicated that cooking was possibly involved in the fire’s ignition, the Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office said. Heat from the fire cause nearby propane tanks and aerosol cans to explode, prompting 911 calls from neighbors.
