Andresen/St. Johns — Nine staff members from Columbian River Veterinary Specialists aided more than a dozen volunteers from unchaining group Fences for Fido in building a fence for a previously chained golden retriever named Maylie. The hospital provided funds for the building of the fence, in addition to the staff members who dedicated three hours of their Saturday to construct the fence. “We work so closely as a team already, we thought it would be something fun for us to do together outside of work,” says Alysse Butler, CRVS marketing coordinator. “So many of us know about Fences For Fido, so we decided to pull together and do a build ourselves.” Maylie and her family were thrilled with the end result, and Bulter said she and the others in the group plan on participating in another Fences For Fido build in the future.
