A man wanted in multiple residential burglary cases in Vancouver and Portland made a first appearance Tuesday in Clark County Superior Court.
Ryan S. Hentz, 32, appeared in connection with four Clark County cases, including two for which there was a warrant for his arrest. In the latest case, he faces an allegation of attempting to elude stemming from a Feb. 6 incident. In the three other cases, he faces two counts of residential burglary, second-degree possession of stolen property and another count of attempt to elude. All of the cases are from earlier this year.
Additionally, Hentz also is a suspect in a March 4 residential burglary at a Hayden Island condominium. A neighbor had confronted the alleged burglar, later identified as Hentz, who fled in a Honda, according to the Portland Police Bureau. A resident in North Portland found images of Hentz on a home surveillance system, taken two days earlier.
Vancouver police received information that Hentz was staying in a home in the 600 block of Ash Street in Vancouver. Detectives from the Neighborhood Response Team and Safe Streets Task Force responded to the location and tried to contact Hentz, but he ran. He was apprehended in the 700 block of Ash Street, according to the Vancouver Police Department.
