State of the City speech set for 5 p.m. Thursday

The public is invited to Vancouver Mayor Tim Leavitt’s annual State of the City speech at 5 p.m. Thursday in the lobby of Vancouver City Hall, 415 W. Sixth St. Those planning to attend the free event should RSVP to CityHallRSVP@cityofvancouver.us. A social hour with the mayor and city council will follow the speech.

Attendees are asked to bring a donation of new laundry soap or personal hygiene items for Second Step Housing, a nonprofit agency that works to eliminate homelessness in the community.

Paid street parking is available around City Hall. Free visitor parking also will be available in the employee parking lot on the west side of City Hall starting at 4:45 p.m.
