Egg hunts are overwhelmingly the thing to do this weekend. So bring your own basket and head out to these free events in the parks.
Activate Church and the Vancouver Farmers Market will host a free Easter egg hunt, along with face painting, balloon animals, bouncy houses and pictures with the Easter Bunny from 10 to 11 a.m. today at Esther Short Park, 301 W. Eighth St., Vancouver. The egg hunt features 8,000 eggs, and will be divided into groups for ages 3 and younger, 4 to 6, 7 and older, plus those of all ages with special needs. www.activatechurch.org
Ridgefield Church of the Nazarene will host Easter-themed activities starting at 10 a.m. today, with an egg hunt for those in fourth grade and younger, while children in fifth and sixth grade can take part in a scavenger hunt. The Fraternal Order of the Eagles Washougal Aerie No. 4390 hosts its annual Easter Egg Hunt at 1 p.m. today, featuring more than 20,000 eggs. The egg hunting will be divided into age groups, with times for ages 2 and younger, 3 to 5, 6 to 8 and 9 to 12.
