Ellie Johnson of Skyview golf was voted The Columbian’s high school spring sports athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending March 19.
Johnson collected 51 percent of the 10,902 votes cast by fans to beat out Sabrina Wang of Mountain View tennis, who had 43 percent.
Johnson shot a 5-over-par 42 at Tri-Mountain in a non-league win over Washougal.
The other nominees were Canon Racanelli of Hockinson baseball, Mo Spieth of Union softball and Bennett Lehner of Camas soccer.
Nominees and the online ballot are posted at www.360preps.com each Monday and voting continues until 8 p.m. Thursday.
Athletes may be elected player of the week once during the regular season, and no athlete can be nominated for the honor in consecutive weeks.
