East Fisher’s Landing Neighborhood — A new tradition was started at Big Al’s on March 12 with the first “Better With Blue” Award being presented to Washington State Patrol Trooper Pete Stock. Hundreds of community members stopped by the event table before a more intimate awards ceremony was held with family, friends and Stock’s commanding officers. Stock was serenaded by his daughter and her two friends. Paul Godin, organizer of the event and one of the founders of the “Better With Blue” campaign, spoke about Stock’s service. At the end of the ceremony, Stock was presented with a custom Allegra drum set and a personalized letter of thanks from Gov. Jay Inslee. Stock was surprised and grateful for the gesture and wanted to take the time to honor others who work in law enforcement. “I would like to thank everyone else who also serves — this celebration was really about all of us,” said Stock. “Stay safe out there and know that your service is supported and appreciated.”
