Melanie Green, who supervises the 10 Family Resource Centers for Evergreen Public Schools, has been named Classified School Employee of the Year for the Educational Service District 112 region. The award recognizes an outstanding classified school employee in each of the state’s ESD regions.

Green built the district’s first resource center from the ground up and has put in place programs for students and families including a community lunch buddies program, a Big Brothers, Big Sisters program and a Kids’ Club after-school homework/activity club.

Family Resource Centers support families directly and also connect families to community partners that provide access to basic needs and services.

The award is given by the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction. Green will be recognized, along with honorees from around the state, by Superintendent Randy Dorn later this spring. She will be considered for the Washington State Classified Employee of the Year award.
