Week 1 spring sports prep athlete of the week nominees

Weekly vote, sponsored by Athletes Corner, continues through Thursday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian spring sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending March 19.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

ELLIE JOHNSON, SKYVIEW GIRLS GOLF: Johnson shot a 5-over-par 42 at Tri-Mountain in a non-league win over Washougal.

BENNETT LEHNER, CAMAS BOYS SOCCER: Lehner scored nine goals and one assist as Camas won four non-league games.

CANON RACANELLI, HOCKINSON BASEBALL: Racanelli went 3 for 3 with three walks, three runs and three RBI and allowed 1 run in four innings pitched.

MO SPIETH, UNION SOFTBALL: Spieth went 5 for 5 with two home runs, four RBI and three walks in two wins.

SABRINA WANG, MOUNTAIN VIEW GIRLS TENNIS: Wang earned two straight-set wins as the No. 1 singles, and teammed with Anna Lu to place second in No. 1 doubles at the Mountain View Invitational.
