Save the Date: On your toes for dance performances, farmers market

The Columbia Dance Company will perform its annual eclectic performance of dance pieces, from Artistic Director Jan Hurst and guest artists. The performance includes excerpts from “Cinderella,” featuring new choreography at 2 and 7 p.m. today at Royal Durst Theatre, Vancouver School of Arts and Academics, 3101 Main St., Vancouver. Vancouver Farmers Market returns for the start of spring, with vendors open at 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, running through Oct. 30. There are many Easter egg events taking place next weekend. The annual Easter egg hunt in Crown Park will be one of the few on Easter. It features more than 10,000 eggs filling the designated hunting areas for different age groups. Children should bring their own basket to collect eggs. There will also be the traditional Easter Bonnet and Contemporary Hat contests following the egg hunt. The hunt begins at 1:30 p.m. March 27 at Crown Park, Northeast 15th and Everett streets, Camas. Alpaca owners, breeders and enthusiasts will gather for Alpacapalooza, a regional show that celebrates raising alpacas and alpaca fiber. The animals will participate in shows and contests, with vendors on hand selling alpaca fiber products. The public can meet the alpacas from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 2 and 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 3 at the Clark County Event Center at the Fairgrounds, 17402 N.E. Delfel Road, Ridgefield. The 11th annual North Clark Historical Museum Quilt Show has grown to two venues this year, with multiple quilts on display at the Mt. Valley Grange, 40107 N.E. 21st Ave., Amboy, along with vendors, a scavenger hunt and the popular Corner Cafe at the Grange. At the historic museum, 21416 N.E. 399th St., accomplished hand quilter Ruth Rudolph will do a trunk show and demonstrate her techniques with classes at 1 p.m. The show is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 2 and noon to 4 p.m. April 3. The annual Klineline Kids Fishing Derby introduces children ages 5 to 14 to the activity of fishing, with all the gear and bait provided. There will also be other activities in the park, including an archery range and educational kiosks. Children will fish in 45-minute time slots from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 8 and 9. April 8 is for children and adults with special needs, and April 9 is open to all at the Klineline Pond, Salmon Creek Park, 1482 N.E. 117th St., Vancouver. The Blooms to Brews Marathon takes place during the first weekend of the Woodland Tulip Festival, offering participants multiple races through a rural setting. The event includes a marathon, four-person marathon relay, half-marathon and 10K Run/Walk, all kicking off at 7:30 a.m. April 10 at Horseshoe Lake Park, Park Road, Woodland. The post-race party will include microbrews and root beers, with proceeds benefiting the Scott Hill Park and Sports Complex. Registration is $110 for marathon, $85 for half-marathon, $55 for 10K and $220 for relay team. There will also be the first Kids Bloomathon at 8 p.m. April 9 at Woodland High School, 1500 Dike Access Road, featuring a 1-mile run for ages 5 to 13, followed by a fitness festival.
