Camas — Students from Union High School’s debate team successfully made their case, and they are heading to New York City to compete in the final round of the International Public Policy Forum on April 2. The event, sponsored by the Brewer Foundation and New York University, will feature eight remaining teams fighting for the right to be named the “IPPF World Champion” and take home the “Brewer Cup,” along with a $10,000 grand prize. Union High School is the only team from Washington remaining in the competition. “The students from Union High School have emerged as one of the best teams in this contest,” William A. Brewer III, partner at Brewer, Attorneys & Counselors and founder of the IPPF, said in a press release. “They now have an opportunity to showcase their advocacy skills during a single-elimination, oral debate competition to determine who wins one of the most coveted titles in debate — IPPF World Champion.”
