Hudson’s Bay Neighborhood– The School of Piano Technology for the Blind has received a $4,000 Flexible Grant from the Jane Onsdorff Malmquist Charitable Fund, a charitable fund at the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington. The award will go to support two upcoming fundraising events for the school. The “3 Grands Concert for the Blind,” which benefits both the School of Piano Technology for the Blind and Pacific Foundation for Blind Children, will be held May 12 at the Kiggins Theatre and will feature three grand pianos, three accomplished blind musicians and a jazz vocalist. The second event, “Keys to the City,” will be held in August. It solely benefits the School of Piano Technology for the Blind and places hand-painted pianos in public places throughout the community, accessible to all for a 10-day celebration of music and art.
