The Battle Ground Police Department tracked down and cited an alleged hit-and-run driver who knocked down a flashing school zone sign on North Parkway Avenue near Battle Ground High School on Tuesday evening.

Police put the word out on social media, and were able to identify, contact and ticket a suspect, according to the Battle Ground Police Department.

Police said someone driving an older-model gold Ford Ranger with a black construction rack in the bed lost control and smacked into the school zone sign around 7 p.m. The pickup driver drove away.
