Rainy days and Mondays always get me down, as the tune goes. Here’s my version: “Rainy days and Mondays always get me down — especially after moving the clocks ahead one hour.”
I don’t think anyone ever gets used to moving the clock forward one hour. I saw many people dragging Monday and the rainy downpours probably didn’t help. At least we have an extra hour in the evening of daylight to enjoy sunny skies whenever we get them. This year, that has been few and far between. Since Jan. 1, we have had only 16 days without measurable precipitation. And of those 16 days, several were cloudy, not sunny. Are we sun-deprived?
Looking back at the water year that runs from Oct. 1 to Sept. 30, we have only 51 days without rainfall. All those cloudy days brought more than 27 inches of rain to Vancouver. However, it appears that beginning Wednesday, we will see old sol for a few precious hours until more rain falls again this weekend.
So, I am giving you advance notice to plan your day Thursday and Friday to at least get in some “sun” time. You need some vitamin D right about now after days of clouds and rain.
