Washougal — Students at Gause Elementary were treated to juggling, comedy and music mixed in with lessons in physics during their recent “Gravity Catastrophe!” assembly. The show, paid for through funds raised by Gause boosters, featured Seattle prop comic, Alex Zerbe, known also as “The Zaniac.” Zerbe has performed at more than 1,500 school assembly programs in 44 states. He has also appeared on “America’s Got Talent” and “Last Comic Standing.” Members of the Gause booster club make an effort to prioritize these kinds of fun and interactive learning events. “Our Gause boosters have two assemblies booked so far this year for the students,” said Rona Ager, Gause booster president. “With each of these, our goal is to expose the kids to a fun and entertaining opportunity to be inspired outside of the normal classroom activities. This show helped connect students with science and demonstrated to young students how there is science everywhere in everyday life.”
