To celebrate 103 years of connecting Washingtonians to the outdoors, Washington state parks admission will be free March 19.
It will be the third of 12 free days at state parks in 2016. Visitors won’t be required to display the Discover Pass for day use visits to a state park. Overnight visits still are subject to fees.
The free days were approved as part of the legislation that created the Discover Pass. The Discover Pass, good for one year of parking at state parks, is $30. Otherwise, it costs $10 for a one-day vehicle permit.
The pass allows access to recreation lands managed by Washington state parks, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife and the Department of Natural Resources.
