The Washington School for the Deaf will host the 10th annual Flying Hands American Sign Language poetry competition Thursday in the school’s Lloyd Auditorium, 611 Grand Blvd. The free, public event begins at 9 a.m. with pre-K students and ends at 3 p.m. with seniors.
Deaf students from across the region will participate in the ASL literature competition. Presentations will be in ASL. Voice interpreters will provide storytelling, titles and some aspects of the competition. An art competition for all grades will occur at the same time as the poetry competition.
