La Center superintendent finalists named

La Center School District Superintendent Mark Mansell announced he would retire in September, and the district’s board recently announced four finalists to fill the position.

The four candidates are: Chris Fritsch, assistant superintendent with the Longview School District, David Holmes, superintendent at Three Rivers School District in Grants Pass, Ore., Slade McSheehy, assistant superintendent for the Hockinson School District, and Ellen Perconti, superintendent at Mary M. Knight School District in Elma.

The finalists will be in La Center on March 10 to meet with various groups in the district, including students, staff and administrators. The following day, they will have individual interviews with the school board.
