Starting today, the Oregon Air National Guard’s 142nd Fighter Wing will conduct routine F-15 night training missions on nine evenings over the next couple of weeks.
Training flights will be completed each evening before 10:30 p.m., according to a news release.
The training flights are scheduled for tonight and Saturday, and they will resume on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights.
The other four midmonth training flights are scheduled Monday, March 14, through Thursday, March 17.
Night training allows the F-15 Eagle jet fighter pilots based at the Portland Air National Guard Base to stay current with mandatory Air Force requirements.
Night flying is conducted almost monthly and provides essential training for nighttime maneuvers.
