The remains of Hayden Island’s Sundance Marina have been turned over to the owner and his insurance representative by Portland fire investigators.
Though the cause is still undetermined, investigators said there is no reason to suspect the $24 million fire is suspicious in nature.
The fire destroyed a large warehouse and approximately 350 pleasure boats that were stored inside, out of the water and safe from the weather. A substantial number of the boats were owned by Clark County residents.
The four-alarm fire broke out late Sunday night and took two days to be extinguished. At one point, it taxed Portland’s waterworks and required additional water to be pumped from the Columbia River.
No one was reported injured.
