Community Foundation awards grants to nonprofits

Clark County — The Community Foundation for Southwest Washington distributed $296,798 in grants to 31 local nonprofits and school districts, $191,029 of which went to Clark County organizations. In Clark County, money went to Bridgeview Housing’s construction of an employment and education resource center and the Stepping Up to Eliminate Poverty program operated by Second Step Housing. Open House Ministries and Meals on Wheels People also were awarded enrichment grants, and flexible grants went to the Chinook Trails Association, Clark County Historical Society, North County Community Food Band, Police Activities League, Rocksolid Community Teen Center, School of Piano Technology for the Blind and YWCA of Clark County. The foundation’s next grant cycle is accepting applications at www.cfsww.org/nonprofits/grant-programs through July 31.
