Vancouver’s Austin Springer will fight in the headline bout for Prime Fighting 8, a mixed martial arts show scheduled for Oct. 8 at the Clark County Event Center.
Springer will defend his Prime Fighting featherweight title against former UFC fighter Julian Erosa from Yakima. Both were part of The Ultimate Fighter 22 television series. Erosa (16-3) won a split decision in the finals of that show, while Springer was eliminated in the first episode. Erosa was released from UFC following a March TKO loss in UFC 196.
Springer takes a 9-1 record in professional MMA bouts into this bout. He won the Prime Fighting lightweight belt with a five-round decision in a January bout that followed his first professional loss.
The full card of professional and amateur fights will be announced later, according to Prime Fighting LLC majority owner Alasdair Mackenzie. Tickets range from $35 for general admission to $70 for the front row and can be purchased at primefighting.net.
