Vancouver gymnast Jordan Chiles withdrew from the juniors competition at the P&G Championships in St. Louis because of a knee injury.

Chiles suffered an injury in training on Wednesday and was advised by members of the USA Gymnastics medical staff not to compete. The injury has been diagnosed as a deep bone bruise to her knee according to Jennifer Lea, elite coordinator for Naydenov Gymnastics.

An MRI showed no structural damage, according to Lea.

Chiles, 15, trains at Naydenov Gymnastics in Vancouver and has been a member of the USA Gymnastics junior national team since 2014. She just completed her freshman year at Prairie High School.

Chiles is five months too young to be eligible for this summer’s Olympics. The P&G Championships are the USA Gymnastics national championships. The juniors competition began on Friday.
