VANCOUVER – Veterans, military personnel and first responders are among those who will be recognized Saturday night in the Heroes Night celebration.

The third annual event will be from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the east Vancouver Costco store, 19610 S.E. First St.

Heroes Night will be presented by the nonprofit Community Military Appreciation Committee, in partnership with Costco and Columbia Credit Union.

Larry Smith, former Vancouver city councilor and retired Army colonel, will introduce this year’s most honored heroes, according to a news release.

Participants will be able to meet local representatives from various veteran and active military organizations, fire agencies, local police departments, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and the Northwest Battle Buddies group that brings trained service dogs together with their veteran companions.

A donation drive will help needy families of military personnel and veterans.

There also will be a car show, starting at 4:30 p.m. In addition to classic cars, vintage military vehicles will be on display.
