PRUDENTIAL SPIRIT OF COMMUNITY AWARD
Tina Bao, a senior at Mountain View High School, was honored as a distinguished finalist for Washington in the 2016 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards. Bao is president of the Southwest Washington Red Cross Youth Council, for which she has raised $15,000, sponsored blood drives and taught first aid classes. She joined her school’s Red Cross club as a freshman and has taught disaster preparedness courses, and also coordinated campaigns to provide measles vaccines for children in developing countries.
KMR GROUP FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS
KMR Group Foundation, a Vancouver private nonprofit, has awarded college scholarships to 31 Clark County high school graduates who plan to attend Clark College and Washington State University Vancouver this fall. The scholarships are renewable for four years. The 2016 recipients are:
