Brett Johnson shot a 4-under-par 68 on Friday for a two-shot lead after the first round of the Royal Oaks Invitational.
Johnson made six birdies during his round at Royal Oaks Country Club.
Five golfers finished tied for second at 2-under.
Former Skyview golfer and last year’s runner-up Kevin Beavers was in the group of eight players tied at 1-under.
Defending champion Nigel Lett opened with an even-par round.
The tournament continues through Sunday.
