Community members are invited to celebrate Flag Day on Tuesday, June 14.

The 22nd annual celebration begins at 3:30 p.m. at the Parade Ground bandstand at Fort Vancouver, across from the Grant House, 1101 Officers Row.

The event is officially called Fort Vancouver National Trust Flag Day Celebration presented by Davidson Insurance representing Pemco.

It includes the national pause for the Pledge of Allegiance, and the annual mayors’ patriotic tie competition, judged by local Boy and Girl Scouts. Music will be provided by members of Northwest Harmony Chorus.

Presenting sponsor Davidson & Associates Insurance is offering an American flag exchange program for the public at its Vancouver office, 610 Esther St., Suite 101.

The flags, which measure 3 feet by 5 feet, are available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, through June 17. Fort Vancouver District Boy Scouts of America will perform proper flag retirement ceremonies for all old flags. For information, contact Davidson and Associates Insurance at 360-514-9550.
