A Battle Ground man faces charges after police say he caused a four-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 on Sunday night near Mill Plain Boulevard in Vancouver.

Larry Grant, 34, was driving a 2002 Volkswagen Passat south on the freeway when he struck the left corner of a southbound 1999 Chevrolet Malibu just before 10 p.m., according to the Washington State Patrol. The Passat continued on and struck a 2005 Dodge Neon, pushing it onto the freeway’s shoulder, and a 2005 Ford Freestyle, police said.

The driver of the Freestyle, Isabel Ruizvidal, 30, of Vancouver, was injured and taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. Her condition was not available.

Two other vehicle occupants were injured but not taken to a hospital, State Patrol said.

Troopers said that inattention caused the crash and that Grant will face charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless endangerment.
