A Vancouver man was injured Saturday in a motorcycle crash north of Battle Ground on state Highway 503, according to the Washington State Patrol.

A WSP bulletin said the crash occurred at 4:29 p.m. as Michael S. Frank, 59, was riding south on the highway near milepost 10 when the rear tire blew out on the 2005 Kawasaki VN1500 motorcycle he was riding. The blowout caused Frank to put the motorcycle down on its side.

Frank, who was wearing a helmet, was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver. He was reported in critical condition Saturday evening.
