Efraimson posts season-best in 1,500 meters

Alexa Efraimson of Camas ran a season-best 4-minute, 6.38-second 1,500 meters on Saturday at the Furman Elite 1500 in Greenville, S.C.

It placed her sixth out of 14 finishers in the race held at Furman University.

The race was won by Morgan Uceny of Adidas in 4:03.94. The top 10 runners all had Olympic Trials Standard times (under 4:09.50). (Click here for complete results)

Efraimson’s previous outdoor season best in the 1,500 was 4:08.37, which she did in Kingston, Jamaica on May 7.

She was coming off a 12th-place performance at the Prefontaine Classic on May 28 in Eugene where she posted a 4:08.81 in the 1,500.

Efraimson’s personal best is the American junior record of 4:03.39, which she did at the Pre Classic in 2015.
