Police were unable to locate two men who reportedly robbed, at gunpoint, a man vacuuming his vehicle Friday evening in the Carter Park neighborhood.

Officers were called to a home near Lincoln Avenue and West 30th Street at about 6:20 p.m. for a report of an armed robbery.

Vancouver police Officer Brian Schaffer said the victim was kneeling down while cleaning his vehicle when he felt something poking against the back of his head.

No words were exchanged while the assailant reached down and snagged the man’s wallet and phone, Schaffer said.

When the coast seemed clear, Schaffer said the victim carefully tailed the subject, and noticed he carried what looked like a pistol.

Schaffer said the man told police that he saw the man get into a brown Honda with Oregon temporary plates then ride away. The two in the car were not located.

Schaffer said police were investigating the incident.
