An unused purse hanging out in your closet could help a woman facing homelessness or domestic violence. A project called Purses of Hope is collecting new and used purses that will benefit clients of Second Step Housing and YWCA Clark County.

Other items needed include soap, shampoo, conditioner, hand lotion, toothbrushes, toothpaste, tampons, sanitary pads, nail clippers, deodorant, tissues, socks, pens, paper pads and snacks. Donations can be dropped off at the Vancouver Tennis Center, 5300 E. 18th St., or the office of Thandiwe Curtis Gibson, 210 E. McLoughlin Blvd.
