Washougal – Starting Tuesday, a section of Northeast Borin Road will close to replace a failing culvert, which is rusty, undersized and about 85 percent filled with debris, according to a release from Clark County Public Works. An unnamed tributary of the Washougal River flows through the culvert, and the replacement will be a larger structure to allow fish passage in a rural area northeast of Washougal.

A stretch of about one-eighth of a mile will be closed east of Northeast Hughes Road on Borin. The section of the road is expected to reopen in early September.

Temporary signs will guide drivers around the closure using Northeast Hughes Road, Northeast Washougal River Road and Northeast 412th Avenue. A map showing the detours and other information can be found at www.clark.wa.gov/public-works.
