Esther Short — Seven young students took part in Raymond Klein’s photography class July 13 at Gallery 360.

Klein, a photographer and member of the gallery, showed the children how to take pictures of a moving light source to create swirling, colorful images that look kind of like a Slinky. The class was among several offered for free for children at the downtown Vancouver gallery. A grant covers costs. A few August classes still have openings: card design on Aug. 3 and paper beads on Aug. 10.

To sign up for classes, visit the gallery in the Slocum House, 605 Esther St., Vancouver, in person.

The gallery is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays. For more information about the gallery, visit www.gallery360.org or call 360-693-7340.
