Vancouver – C-Tran is seeking more volunteers to serve as travel ambassadors to help make navigating the transit system a less intimidating experience for new riders.

Volunteers coordinate with C-Tran staff to help riders learn how to use public transportation through its Travel Training program. It covers trip planning, paying fares and reading schedules and maps. The program is designed to help seniors and people with disabilities, but it’s open to anyone.

The transit agency is looking for volunteers for both long-term and special events such as the opening of The Vine and the Clark County Fair.

Ambassadors could also assist riders in September when C-Tran’s service change comes into play.

Those that are interested should contact Travel Training program coordinator Veronica Marti at 360-906-7433.

Information is also available at www.c-tran.com/how-to-ride/learning-center/rules-for-riding.
